George's home learning "First, Then, Now" math stories--this one is a cat that has kittens, and the students were told to count the number of legs--so it was 4 legs, then 3 kittens added 12 more legs, so now there's a total of 16 legs.
The subtraction version of the leg counting--there were 16 legs in the barn, then 2 cows went out in the field and there were 8 legs in the barn.
