Five Years Old

George is 5 years old!

He requested a Mickey and the Roadster Racers cake--chocolate with vanilla icing and Oreo filling

Janette sent him Explorer gear--he was thrilled!

World map for his bedroom wall from Aunt Julie & Debbie

His big gift from us this year was the RC Monster Truck he's been asking for

Richard and George went to Toyland with birthday money from Ruth (first post-lockdown visit to a toy store!) and George picked out this Playmobil police van

I gave George a build-your-own insect house kit and we assembled it together

George's home learning activities--this one had little segments on an earthworm with numbers in them, and you had to complete the number sequences.

They did a unit on snails and read "The Snail and the Whale"

George drew a map of Otley, with our house, the park, church, Toyland, Oxfam and Sainsburys

We did these little math sheets each day--I made up addition and subtraction problems up to 20

George made this Father's Day rosette for Richard--we got the idea from church's online creche activities

Another home learning activity--they had to build a castle and write about the 3D shapes they used

Measuring and playing with water, as part of his home learning

Great activity for a hot day!

On the day before his birthday, I had George fill out a favourite things list. I annotated some of it, but will try to do it again here. Colour: blue, Toy: remote control vehicles, Song: Shotgun (George Ezra), Movie: Turbo, TV show: Fireman Sam, Holiday: Beach, Food: Pizza, Game: illegible...Book: Skeleton Bones (the Funnybones series), Time of Year: autumn

Playing with birthday presents from Grandma (Tonka dump truck) and Aunt Kelly (sand pit and sand toys)

Five months

Paul is 5 months old!

He loved grabbing the spoon off me in our early days of trying solids

Checking out Daddy's Transformers

George and Paul had a lovely summer together--they are so sweet!

Teething on George's hand

Lockdown means lots of online shopping and deliveries, which means lots of cardboard boxes!

All aboard!

Paul loved porridge--his first non-fruit/veg food

We had great weather in May/June and spent lots of time in the back garden

Trying out the paddling pool

Staying in the shade on a hot day--it was in the 30C/80F range!
