Knaresborough

Today we went to Knaresborough--it's absolutely beautiful and I don't know why we haven't been before! I saw a piece about it in one of the Yorkshire magazines that Mom picked up--it claimed that Knaresborough was Yorkshire's "most picturesque" town, so we had to check it out.
This was slightly disconcerting...I'd never seen a "falling rocks" sign for pedestrians before this.

It really is very picturesque--the railway bridge is amazing

The Old Manor House, circa 1208

St John the Baptist--the church dates back to 1114

There was a medieval festival going on--this lady had crows on chains...

And they had archery, too!

We went boating on the River Nidd
