On 5 July, the NHS celebrated its 70th birthday--George dressed up for the party at nursery
The University's staff festival had the miniature steam train again
George loved it!
Whitby had a Captain Cook festival to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Cook's first voyage to the South Seas on the HM Bark Endeavour, complete with a replica of his ship
On board the Endeavour
"Do just once what others say you can't do and you will never pay attention to their limitations again."
Cook's quarters--note the hammock!
The Captain's table
They had a birds of prey exhibit on deck
This one is a replica schooner from the Battle of Trafalgar, the HMS Pickle
We went for a ride on the Bark Endeavour Whitby, a replica ship (40% of original ship's size) that we went on 9 years ago, the first time we went to Whitby!
