We've been having a heatwave in the UK--the longest unbroken stretch of sunny days in a decade! Hoping to take advantage of the hot weather, we decided to go to Scarborough on Saturday morning. Of course, while it had been in the 80's and sunny in Leeds all week, it was 64 and cloudy in Scarborough. Even so, there was a pretty big crowd in town and on the beach.

It's 64 degrees and cloudy. Seriously.

Mom's Birthday in Harrogate

Mom & I went to Harrogate for her birthday. It was so lovely to have tea and tour the Harrogate Spa Pump Room, and have absolutely no mention of Independence Day for once!

The tea was just perfect--the sandwiches, scone with cream & jam, and little cakes

The Pump Room had a really interesting museum, too, and then we shopped around for a bit before getting the train back to Leeds. Richard met us and we had dinner at Cafe Rouge, a French place downtown--Bon Anniversaire, Maman!
